Salam Alaikum dear sisters. Hope you are doing well.

Day 19 Emotional Detox plan : “Notice your thoughts ”

🧠 Thoughts are mental events, the inner dialogue, images, and stories we tell ourselves all day long. They’re not facts, but our brain treats them like they are.
Most of our thoughts are repetitive and automatic, they come from habits, past conditioning, fears, and desires.
Researchers suggest the average person has about 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts per day. That’s roughly 1 thought every second during waking hours.
Up to 80% are negative, and 95% are the same as the day before.
This means we’re often living in a loop, thinking the same things, feeling the same way. But the good news we can interrupt the pattern.

Today’s Task: To notice your thoughts, label them, and reframe the negative ones.

1. Track Your Thoughts
Throughout the day, pay attention to your internal dialogue.
Aim to notice at least 10 thoughts and write them down (on your phone or a small notebook).

2. Label Them
Next to each thought, write:
• (P) if it’s Positive
• (N) if it’s Negative

3. Flip the Thought
Whenever you catch a negative thought, pause and turn it around. Ask:
• “Is this thought helpful?”
• “What would be a more empowering way to say this?”
• (N→P) if it’s a Negative thought you flip into a Positive

For example:

“I always mess things up.”-
“I’m learning, and I get better each time.”
“My sister doesn’t care.”-
“She shows love differently, maybe I’ve missed it.”

“No one understands me.”- “Someone will, and I’m open to that.”

Also you can teach your children and husband to notice their thoughts and swap them with positive sentence and every time someone hears the other say something negative out loud, others gently replies :

“Want to flip that one?”

It becomes a playful way to catch each other and gently shift the energy - like emotional accountability buddies.
So turn it into a shared practice, not a criticism and help each other grow with kindness.

🌼The goal isn’t to be fake-positive. It’s to recognise when your brain is running on autopilot and give it a new, empowering route.

Your thoughts shape your day but you’re not stuck with them.
Today, you’re not just detoxing your emotions, you’re reclaiming your mind.

“Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.”
(Surah Ar-Ra’d 13:11)

Changing your thoughts is one way of changing what’s inside.
It’s a form of tazkiyah (purifying the soul). It brings peace in your mind, in your heart, and in your relationships. InshaAllah
