Nutrition & Diet
Ordinary, affordable healthy eating — and a registered practitioner when you want advice for your own situation.
Practical guidance on eating well through a normal week, on a normal budget. For personal advice, book a consultation with an HCPC-registered dietitian or an AfN-registered nutritionist.
Dietitian or nutritionist?
Dietitians are regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council and can advise on diagnosed medical conditions. Registered nutritionists are professionally accredited through the Association for Nutrition and advise on general nutrition and healthy eating. Both are shown with their verified registration.
Everyday eating
Vegetables you will actually cook, water, fibre, protein, and fewer late nights. Small changes kept up for months beat a perfect plan abandoned on Thursday.
Natural & Traditional Wellbeing
Traditional and food-first approaches to everyday health, described honestly — what is tradition, and what the evidence actually shows.
Unani, Ayurveda, naturopathy, herbs, vegetables and everyday drinks have a long history of traditional use. This pathway keeps traditional use and established evidence clearly apart, and always includes preparation, safety, interactions and who should avoid something.
How we write about this
Every article separates traditional use from established evidence, and includes preparation, safety, known interactions and who should avoid it. Each one names its sources, the person who reviewed it and the date it was reviewed before it is published.
Food first
Most of what helps is ordinary: vegetables, pulses, water, whole grains, a warm drink, sleep and a daily walk. Start there before anything you have to buy.
Complementary practitioners
Unani, Ayurveda and naturopathy practitioners are listed only with verified qualifications, confirmed insurance and a defined scope of practice, and are always labelled complementary. They do not diagnose or treat medical conditions.
