WHINING

One of the most annoying and triggering sounds for parents is whining.
"Say it in words!", "Speak normally", "FINISH IT!!!"
REMEMBER! The child's behavior is his communication. So what is he trying to communicate through his body (and voice)? Maybe tiredness, maybe lack of attention (needs quality time without mommy’s plans in mind and phone in hands), maybe hunger, maybe lack of security. The child communicates and does it to the best of his ability. If he could communicate in words, he would do so, but at that moment, perhaps even expressing his request in words is too difficult, or has he been ignored or rejected for a long time? This certainly does not mean that we must rush to satisfy the child's wishes, but we must see and respond to his NEEDS. And if we can't do that, at least name them so that the child can see that he is seen, understood, and important. 💗

Well, practical advice for parents... If everything is already too much. Too many sounds, too much pressure. Earplugs can help 🤭 they will reduce the sound, help you adjust and still hear what's going on around you.
Breathe. Go outside or to the balcony, open the window, move your body and at the same time tell your child that you are doing it for self-regulation, because seeing you - he will learn it too.❤️

About triggers and how to integrate and regulate our and kids emotions we will be talking more in classes and in our private meetings on zoom InshaAllah.
