We for You | Daily Reflection | by Maryam ❤️

Salam Alaikum dear Brothers and Sisters. I hope you are all feeling well today.

Today’s Topic: Seeing Our Spouse as a Human Being, Not a Role

In today’s reality, many husbands work from home and spend much more time with their wives. This means they see their wives in all states: sometimes tired, sometimes messy, sometimes emotional, sometimes joyful, sometimes quiet, sometimes strong. And this is completely normal.
A home is the one place where a woman should feel free and safe to be herself. She should not feel pressured to always look perfect, always smile, or always be ready for intimacy. Especially men who are at home all day should understand this and not complain about seeing real life, because marriage is not a performance, it is a partnership.
This does not mean that a woman should neglect herself or the relationship. It means understanding that a woman’s energy naturally changes. Her emotions, strength, motivation, and needs follow biological and emotional rhythms. Islam recognizes this reality, it does not deny human nature.

Allah SWT created men and women differently.

A woman is not meant to function like a machine with the same output every day. Some days she gives more, some days she needs more care. Being in all states is not a flaw, it is how Allah SWT created her.

If you see your wife sitting, resting, scrolling on her phone, or simply doing nothing -it means your woman is resting.
Rest is not laziness. ‼️
Rest is necessary for emotional balance, mental health, and renewal. A rested woman is more present, more loving, and more alive.
Of course, balance is important.‼️ Just as it is unhealthy for a woman to be under constant pressure, it is also unhealthy to spend most of the day only on the phone, computer, or TV. But this balance must be built with mercy, communication, and understanding, not control.

Men are not created to spend all day at home or trapped in tight offices. Allah SWT created men with a natural drive for movement, purpose, responsibility, and building. Physical activity, challenge, striving, and being out in the world help men regulate stress, strengthen identity, and protect their mental and emotional health.
Islam recognises this nature. Men are encouraged to work, provide, seek knowledge, attend the masjid, build skills, and engage with society. When a man is inactive, confined, or disconnected from meaningful effort, frustration often appears and unfortunately, this tension is sometimes directed toward the wife.
This does not apply to if a man temporary staying at home due to illness or other circumstances.
If you see your husband sitting, resting, scrolling on his phone, or simply doing nothing -it means your husband is resting.
Rest is not laziness. ‼️

This is why wisdom is needed in the home.
A man should not release his inner pressure through control, criticism, or constant demands toward his wife. A woman should not be expected to compensate for a man’s unfulfilled purpose.

Likewise, a woman should not unload her emotional frustration, resentment, or inner emptiness onto her husband, nor expect him to fill every emotional or spiritual gap alone.
When a woman becomes emotionally overwhelmed, insecure, or disconnected from her own sense of purpose, fear quietly appear. She may begin to feel anxious about her husband going out, working, socialising, or being active in the world. This fear does not come from control, but from insecurity and inner uncertainty.
When a woman feels unconfident, she may unconsciously start to hold on, wanting to own, limit, or monitor not because she distrusts her husband, but because she fears loss, abandonment, or not being enough. This is a human emotional response, but if left unchecked, it can slowly harm the relationship.

Islam teaches balance and trust. *Marriage is not ownership*‼️; it is amanah (a trust). Love grows with security, not restriction, and closeness grows with trust, not fear.

Just as men should not restrict women out of control or ego, women should not restrict men out of fear or insecurity.

Both spouses I encourage to strengthen their own inner stability, confidence, and connection to Allah SWT, so the marriage becomes a place of peace – not anxiety.

When each person feels whole within themselves, love becomes freer, healthier, and stronger.

Let us all remember:
A woman does not exist to always please.
A man does not exist to always demand.
Both exist to support, protect, and grow together.

May Allah SWT place understanding between spouses, soften hearts, and make our homes places of peace, where both husband and wife can be themselves, in all their states. 🤍
