We for You | Daily Reflection | *by Maryam* ❤️

Salam Alaikum dear sisters.🌸Hope you all are feeling well.

Today the message about our bodies. Cellular self-cleaning, or autophagy.🦠

It’s our body’s natural “housekeeping” process, where cells clean up damaged parts, recycle what’s no longer useful, and renew themselves from the inside out ✨. Think of it as your body’s internal spring cleaning - keeping you youthful, energised, and resilient.

In 2016, Japanese scientist Yoshinori Ohsumi received the Nobel Prize for discovering how cells, when deprived of nutrients, start forming tiny “trash bags” called autophagosomes. These collect and break down old proteins, damaged organelles, and even virus remnants -turning them into fresh energy and building materials. Truly amazing, MashAllah. 🧬💫

We often hear, “With a fork and knife, we dig our own grave.” 🍴 Many modern diseases -from insulin resistance to chronic inflammation -*are rooted in our poor diet and lifestyle choices*. But the great news is that small, intentional changes can turn things around 🌿.

Practices like intermittent fasting, pseudo-fasting, and regular physical activity help activate autophagy, rejuvenate our cells, and slow biological aging.

Benefits of autophagy:

🛡️ Cellular rejuvenation & protection from diseases
🧬 Stronger and more balanced immune system
⚙️ Better metabolism and insulin sensitivity
💃Longevity and graceful aging

You can boost autophagy naturally through:

🍵 Pseudo-fasting (low-calorie phases)
🍗❌ Reducing excess protein intake
🏃‍♀️ Regular exercise
🔥 Cold/heat exposure (like saunas or cold showers)

Fasting isn’t new; it’s one of humanity’s oldest healing practices and deeply rooted in Islam.

“O you who believe, fasting is prescribed to you as it wasprescribed to those before you, that you may become righteous.”
(Qur’an 2:183)*

And remember -your biological age may differ from your calendar age.
Our cells reveal the truth. Scientists like Steve Horvath and Morgan Levine developed “epigenetic clocks” that measure how fast our cells age using simple blood markers 🩸.

The PhenoAge calculator uses 9 simple blood markers to estimate your cellular age:
🩸 Albumin · Creatinine · Glucose · CRP · ALP · WBC · Lymphocytes · MCV · RDW
Each one tells a story about your inflammation, metabolism, immunity, and resilience.
If your biological age is younger than your real age -amazing! 🌟
If it’s older -it’s a reminder to reset your habits, nourish your cells, and support your body’s natural renewal.🌿

Remember: You can’t trick your cells but you can teach them to age slower through balance, fasting, movement, and gratitude even without calculators.

So tomorrow, take a moment to thank your amazing body for all it does and give it a little support through mindful eating, movement, or a bit of fasting.
Let’s keep glowing, growing, and renewing, from the inside out! 💫
Salam Alaikum.❤️
