We for You | Daily Reflection | *by Maryam* ❤️
Assalamu Alaikum, dear Sisters 🌸I hope you are all doing well today.
Today, notice how often you say:
“I have to…”
“I must…”
“I should…”
“I have to exercise.”
“I must cook.”
“I should be more patient.”
“I need to do more.”
Now try replacing “I have to” with “I choose to.”
🌿 “*I choose* to exercise because I want to care for my body.”
🌿 “*I choose* to cook because caring for my family matters to me.”
🌿 “*I choose* to set boundaries because I value my wellbeing.”
Interestingly, the action hasn’t changed but our inner position has.
“I have to” can create pressure and a feeling that we have no choice.
“I choose to” reminds us that we have the power to choose and helps us reconnect with the reason behind what we do.
And sometimes, when we change the words, we may realise:
“Actually… I don’t choose this. I am doing it because someone expects it from me.”
🌸 A little reflection for today:
Notice your “have tos” and “shoulds.” Ask yourself:
Do I choose this? And if I do -why?
Sometimes changing our language helps us reconnect with what we genuinely value. ❤️
