We for You | Daily Reflection | *by Maryam* ❤️

Salam Alaikum, dear Sisters, I hope you are feeling well today.🌸

Today I want to share something important but usually overlooked-
the inheritance of women’s health - how the stories, wounds, and illnesses of our mothers and grandmothers can live on within us today.

Sometimes what we carry was never truly ours. And yet, it becomes our responsibility, because we may be the last link in the chain, and the first woman in our lineage who chooses a different path.

Many women ask the same quiet questions in their hearts:

Why does my life look similar to my mother’s ?

Why do the same fears, struggles, or illnesses repeat?

Why do I feel bound to a story I never consciously chose?

Our bodies remember what words could not hold.
They carry not only physical memory, but emotional history,
unexpressed grief, silenced pain, endurance learned as love,
self-sacrifice mistaken for duty.

Very often, what repeats is not fate but unconscious loyalty.
A loyalty that says:
“If I suffer like you did, I belong.”

Yet we live in a different time.
We are allowed to choose differently.
We are allowed to rest, to speak, to soften, to be held, not only to endure.

Freedom begins with AWARENESS. Ask yourself:

• Whose burden am I carrying?
• Who taught me this way of loving, sacrificing, or surviving?
• Am I repeating pain out of fear, guilt, or the need to belong?

When we see clearly, we are no longer trapped.
Choosing yourself is not betrayal. It is healing, ❤️‍🩹 for you and for the women before you.

Psychology shows that patterns of fear, self-sacrifice, and survival are often learned and passed through generations. This does not replace medical care or mean illness is caused by belief alone , health has biological and genetic causes as well, but emotional and spiritual reflection can gently support healing alongside proper treatment.
But psychology, psychosomatics, and inheritance of beliefs are real and will give you few examples.
Example Thyroid- Time, Voice, and Trust in Allah SWT

A sister seeks support for a thyroid imbalance. She follows her doctor’s treatment ( taking medication) , yet inside she lives in constant urgency -rushing, fearing delay, feeling she must always prove her worth.

When she reflects on her family history, she sees a familiar pattern:
• Her mother and grandmother were praised only when they were productive, self-sacrificing, enduring.
• Rest felt unsafe and shame. Slowing down felt like failure.

SUBCONSCIOUSLY, she learned:
“If I stop, I am not enough.”

In psychosomatic language, the thyroid is linked to time, expression, and pace.

From an Islamic perspective, this can reflect a struggle with tawakkul -trusting Allah’s SWT timing.

Allah SWT reminds us:

“And Allah is the best of planners.” (Qur’an 8:30)

Healing begins when the sister gently shifts her inner belief:

“My rizq is not delayed by rest.
My worth is not earned by exhaustion.
Allah SWT already sees me.”

As she learns to slow down with faith -praying without haste, speaking her truth without fear, her body no longer needs to signal distress to demand rest.

🌸 Second example Breast - Care, Boundaries, and Amanah

Another sister carries deep fear of breast cancer. Her grandmother had it. Her mother, her aunt too. She lives anxiously, always watching her body, afraid she is “next.”

Emotionally, she notices something else:
• She carries everyone.
• She mothers her husband, her family, her world.
• She gives until she is empty, because that is what women before her did.

Unconsciously, she learned:
“Love means self-erasure.”

In psychosomatic reflection, the breast relates to nurturing, protection, and emotional attachment.

In Islam, care is an amanah (trust) but it was never meant to destroy the one who gives it.

Allah SWT says:

“Do not throw yourselves into destruction with your own hands.” (Qur’an 2:195)

And the Prophet pbuh said:

“Your body has a right over you.” (Bukhari)

Healing begins when the sister allows herself to believe:

“I am not required to suffer to be loving.
I am allowed boundaries.
Caring for myself is part of faith.”

As she releases inherited over-responsibility and returns trust to Allah SWT , fear softens.
The body is no longer carrying the weight of generations alone.

If you conciously recognise what beliefs and inheritances you are carrying, when the heart feels ready, say these words:

I see you, Mother. I honor you, Grandmother. Your pain passed through me but it does not define me.
I was not born to repeat your suffering.
I was not born to carry silence in my body.
I was born to pause and choose another way.
I choose health.
I choose peace.
I choose a life guided by faith, dignity, and wholeness.

May you all be protected, strengthened, and guided. 🤲🏻❤️

With love and respect,
to all my dear Sisters. 🤍
