Salam Alaikum dear Sisters.🌸How are you feeling today?
Warm welcome new sisters to the group. ❤️
Today: about lesson in Strength, Mind, and Faith
There will always be voices that try to define what a woman can or cannot be.
Sometimes these voices come from society, sometimes from culture, and sometimes even from respected thinkers. In the 19th century, Charles Darwin , reflecting common Victorian beliefs, wrote that men had become intellectually superior through evolutionary pressures. Many accepted this as scientific truth.
But psychology teaches us something different:
*People often confuse social restrictions with natural limitations.*‼️
When a woman is told repeatedly,
“You are weak, you are less, you cannot,” her mind starts begin to believe it. This is called internalised limitation.
Yet long before psychology explained this, Islam taught the greater truth:
“Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you.”
(Qur’an 49:13)
Not the strongest.
Not the loudest.
Not the male or the female.
*But the one who seeks truth, knowledge, sincerity, and goodness.*❗️
And this brings us to the woman who thoughtfully challenged some of Darwin’s assumptions with her mind.
Antoinette Brown Blackwell did not have formal scientific training. Universities did not admit women. Society told her she was too emotional, too weak, too unfit for intellectual work.
But she refused to accept limits that others created.
For 4 years, she studied nature, scientific writings, and Darwin’s ideas.
In 1875 she published The Sexes Throughout Nature, where she argued:
Differences between men and women often come from social constraints, not from biology itself.
She pointed out that scientists, including Darwin, sometimes interpreted evidence through cultural bias, assuming male superiority rather than proving it.
Darwin did not publicly respond to her critique, though he privately noted her work.
Her message is still powerful today:
Women are not naturally inferior -they are often limited by opportunity.
*A strong mind is not born - it is built.*‼️
Women grow in mental and emotional strength when they:
• Question unhealthy beliefs
• Seek knowledge
• Challenge false limitations
• Build resilience
• Strengthen their identity
• Refuse to shrink for the comfort of others
Psychologists call this cognitive empowerment -training your mind to see capability, not confinement.
Antoinette embodied this.
So did the great women of Islam.
*Islam elevated women through knowledge and intellect.*🌺
The first command of revelation was:
“Iqra” - Read. Learn. Think.”
And women were included in that command.
🌸*Aisha (ra)* taught men and corrected scholars.
🌺*Umm Salama (ra)* advised the Prophet pbuh and shaped key decisions.
🌹*Al-Shifa bint Abdullah (ra)* served in a public administrative role.
🌻Fatima al-Fihri founded the world’s first university.
These women, like Antoinette , show that the mind has no gender.
Only society gives it one.
In Islam, a woman and a man are created to complement one another, not to compete against each other.
Dear Sisters, do not accept limits that Allah SWT never wrote for you.
• If society says “you cannot,” Islam says “you can, if it pleases Allah SWT .”
• If people say “your mind is weak,” psychology says “your mind grows with challenge.”
• If culture says “stay small,” remember Allah SWT created you with purpose.
• If someone claims “women are naturally less capable,” remember that both science and history reveal the power of opportunity and environment.
Your worth does not come from comparison to men.
Your worth comes from:
✨ Allah SWT
✨ Your intentions
✨ Your character
✨ Your knowledge
✨ Your courage to grow
🌟*A woman’s strength is not measured by the noise she makes, but by the truth she stands upon.*
❤️Empower your mind with knowledge.
❤️Empower your heart with faith in Allah SWT.
❤️Empower your spirit with patience and purpose.
And remember:
💖*When a believing woman begins to think, to learn, and to rely on Allah SWT she becomes unstoppable.*
Just like the woman who challenged scientific assumptions. Just like the women Islam raised to greatness.
Just like you can.
*I’m wishing all of you the strength to rise above limitations, the courage to seek knowledge, and the faith to know your worth in the sight of Allah SWT.*🤲🏻❤️
