🌙 Muharram Reminder:
The Sanctity Of Relations
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ strongly emphasized maintaining family relationships and fulfilling the rights of relatives. Muharram is a time to reflect on our deeds, strengthen our connection with Allah, and repair our relationships with family members.
📖 Hadith
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"The deeds of the children of Adam are presented every Thursday, but the deeds of the one who severs family ties are not accepted."
📚 Musnad Ahmad (10272)
What is the Sanctity Of Relations
Sanctity of Relations (Qat‘a Rahimi) means cutting off relations with relatives, harboring resentment against them, neglecting their rights, or avoiding contact without a valid reason.
A Special Muharram Reminder
✅ Take the first step toward reconciliation if there is tension between you and a relative.
✅ Fulfill the rights of parents, siblings, uncles, aunts, and other family members.
✅ Strengthen family bonds through a phone call, message, or visit.
✅ Remove hatred, jealousy, and grudges from your heart.
✅ Forgive others so that Allah may forgive your shortcomings.
Practical Tips
🌿 Reach out to at least one relative each day.
🌿 Make maintaining family ties a part of your good deeds during these blessed days of Muharram.
🌿 Recite this supplication:
“Allahumma allif bayna qulubina wa aslih dhata baynina.”
“O Allah, unite our hearts and rectify our relationships.”
Remember
Seeking Allah’s pleasure is not achieved through acts of worship alone. Respecting the rights of others and maintaining family ties are also essential parts of faith. Let this Muharram be a time to reconnect with relatives and mend broken relationships.
🤲 May Allah grant us the ability to uphold family ties and earn His pleasure. Ameen. image omitted
