Salam Alaikum dear Brothers and Sisters, I hope you are all doing well and in good health and Imaan.
Let us welcome our new member to the group, may this be a space of benefit, support, and growth for you and everyone, InshaAllah.
🗣️ Today I wanted to stress a few important points:
The Power of Words, Thoughts, and Actions with a focus on Talaq
More and more, I hear from Muslim women expressing deep struggles - emotional pain, miscommunication, and even verbal or physical abuse. These are not one-sided issues. In every relationship, both sides matter.
I try to share knowledge with sisters regularly but I also need the help and engagement of our brothers.
Dear brothers, those of you who take the time to read and reflect on these messages, you will benefit, InshaAllah.
I will continue to share from both the psychological and Islamic perspectives.
But always remember:
Whether you are a sister or a brother, your thoughts, words, and actions are your responsibility. ‼️
📖 The Seriousness of Talaq (Divorce)
In Islam, words are not just sounds they carry legal, emotional, and spiritual weight.
One of the clearest and most sensitive examples of this is talaq, or divorce.
In Islamic law, talaq is a divorce initiated by the husband. It is unilateral, meaning he can declare it without the wife’s agreement.
But this is not something to be taken lightly.
The word “talaq” has the power to end a marriage and with it, affect lives, children, families, and emotional wellbeing.
Today, we see talaq used in moments of anger, pride, or emotional weakness as a form of control or punishment.
This is dangerous.
❗ It’s not a tool to win arguments.
❗ It’s not a threat to use during fights.
❗ It is a final act with deep consequences in both this life and the next.
Some brothers say it in frustration, I understand, thinking it will solve problems.
But often, it causes much deeper harm for both sides.
And yes, I know we women can be difficult at times, but dear brothers, let’s be honest, you’re not always easy to live with either.
Let’s be fair in our view of one another.
No one is perfect -we all bring challenges, emotions, and baggage into relationships.
What matters is how we respond, grow, and support each other.
Talaq is not just a word.
It’s a responsibility.
It’s a final resort -not a reaction.
*It should only be spoken after sincere efforts of communication, patience, and reconciliation have failed.*‼️
Even the *thoughts in our heads, let alone the words on our tongues, leave a spiritual imprint on our spouses.
So imagine the impact of declaring talaq in anger, without intention, without knowledge, and without fear of its consequences.
Let us not follow Shaytan in heated moments.
Anger may come but acting on it with harm is a choice.
Once talaq is pronounced, regret won’t reverse it.
Words can build or destroy, heal or harm and Islam calls us to use them with kindness, sincerity, and self-restraint.
Wishing everyone peace, understanding, and growth.❤️🤲🏻
