I received a question from the sister, who allowed me to share on the group.
“Does father need to talk with a son about boyish stuff or mother needs as well?”
I always say prepare both. Just same gender can more explain about themselves and how they are feeling, is good that father will talk with a son what is to respect girls/women, how to take care of girls/ women, what are boys responsibilities, and how father himself was feeling at teenagers age or in childhood and what experiences he went through.
But it doesn’t mean that mother can’t do that.
But mother also needs to explain from her perspective, what girls feeling, tell about periods, mood swinging ect.
The most important that both parents won’t put responsibility on each other to talk and rely on each other. And won’t push children: “go ask your mum”, or “go ask you dad”.
If a child came to you explain from your perspective and discuss with your spouse how he can continue and contribute and teach child about shaving 🪒, maintaining hygiene, even values and responsibilities.
Again, it should be cooperation, communication and understanding in between the spouses.
